Canoe tents

What tent do you take on a canoe trip? A tent for a canoe trip is a lightweight tent that is not too big or too heavy and preferably has reliable aluminium poles so that you can set it up again and again without any problems. How big the packsize of your tent can be is a trade-off between comfort, pack size and weight. Especially with a Canadian canoe, there enough space to bring even a compact tent with standing height. Especially if you are trekking with children, a roomy space to cook and eat together can work well. But a slightly larger tent is also good for drying your wet clothes or staying in when it is too cold or wet outside. The smaller the space in your canoe or kayak, the lighter and smaller the tent you choose. There are different classes of lightweight tents, from standard lightweight to ultra lightweight. A standard lightweight tent has an outer fabric of around 75D (D = denier and stands for thickness of the outer fabric) made of polyester. The very lightest tents may have an outer fabric of only 15D, i.e. five times as thin, but made of nylon. Here you can find for example light 3 persons tents for canoe trips. Look here for all tents for canoe trips or select by one-, two- or three person tents.
