The Exped Mira II HL is a two-person ultralight geodesic tent designed for backpackers who need a dependable shelter without the bulk. It sits in Exped’s lightweight tent lineup, offering a balance between livable space and packability for multi-day trips.
Its canopy is made from 10 D ripstop nylon to keep weight down, while the inner tent uses slightly heavier 15 D ripstop for a bit more sturdiness and breathability. The floor is reinforced with 20 D ripstop nylon to better withstand rocks and rough ground. Thanks to its geodesic pole design, the Mira II HL holds up well in windy conditions, and when packed it measures about 40 x 12 cm—small enough to slide into most backpack side pockets or compression straps.
Denier (D) refers to the thickness of the individual fibers in the tent fabric: lower denier values mean finer, lighter yarns, and higher values add strength and tear resistance. By combining 10 D, 15 D and 20 D ripstop fabrics, the Mira II HL keeps overall weight down to around 1.3 kg while still offering durability where you need it most.
