Exped Venus II UL

The Venus II UL by Exped is a two-person ultralight dome tent designed for backpackers and campers who need reliable shelter on the trail. Weighing just 2.35 kg, it balances sturdy construction with a low overall weight, making it a practical choice for extended hikes or bikepacking trips where every gram counts.

Made with 15D ripstop nylon for both the fly and inner tent, the Venus II UL keeps weight down while offering good tear resistance. The fly’s silicone/PU coating and factory seam tape help prevent moisture from seeping in, and the fine No-See-Um mesh on the inner tent lets air circulate freely without inviting insects. A laminated 40D ripstop nylon floor adds extra durability underfoot, and the tent comes with guy lines, stakes and a compact carry bag for straightforward pitching and packing.

In tent fabrics, “15D” refers to the denier rating, which measures how thick and substantial the individual yarns are—a lower number means lighter weight but still enough strength for typical backcountry use. The No-See-Um mesh is woven finely enough to keep out tiny biting insects while allowing fresh air to pass through. The PFC-free laminate on the floor reduces reliance on fluorinated chemicals, making the materials more environmentally friendly without affecting durability.
