Gas & fuels here covers camping gas canisters, cartridges, and liquid fuels for stoves, burners, heaters and lanterns. OutdoorXL offers a large assortment and extensive choice, with clear details on mix, connection type and capacity so selection stays straightforward.

For gas canisters, blends vary. Butane works in mild conditions, isobutane improves performance, and propane boosts cold‑weather use. Four‑season mixes balance these. For freezing temperatures, a higher propane share and a stove designed for inverted canister use can help.

Check your connection. Threaded EN417 screw canisters fit most backpacking stoves and many lanterns. Bayonet cartridges (often marked CV) suit compatible appliances. Pierceable cartridges are simple but not resealable. Use the exact type your stove specifies.

Common sizes are 100 g, 230 g and 450 g gas loads. Smaller cans pack easily and stabilise small stoves; larger cans suit group cooking or longer trips. Fuel use depends on stove efficiency, wind, menu and temperature. As a guide, allow extra for wind and cold.

Liquid fuels include white gas (naphtha), kerosene and unleaded petrol for multi‑fuel stoves. They offer strong cold‑weather performance and wide availability. Use approved fuel bottles and pumps from the stove brand, prime carefully, and keep jets and filters clean.

Store canisters upright, away from heat and direct sun. Check O‑rings and valves before use, keep flames clear of canisters, and never use a windscreen that encloses the canister. Do not refill non‑refillable cartridges. Transport according to local rules.

Empty gas canisters fully before disposal; follow local recycling guidance and use can‑piercers only where approved. Plan meals, use lids and a windscreen (safe distance) to cut fuel use. Product pages show specs, compatibility notes and shelf life to help compare.
