The Mirage Mips is a women’s ski helmet from Smith, built for riders who prefer a straightforward design without a built-in visor. It’s focused on core protection, letting you concentrate on your run rather than gadgetry.
This helmet uses In-Mold construction, where a lightweight outer shell is directly fused to the foam liner, trimming down weight while maintaining impact resistance. It also features MIPS, a low-friction layer inside the shell that can slide slightly on impact to help reduce rotational forces. Although it doesn’t have adjustable vents, the clean, simple design keeps things fuss-free on the mountain.
MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is a thin liner placed between your head and the helmet’s foam. In the event of an angled blow, it allows a small amount of movement between the shell and your head, aiming to lessen the rotational motion transferred to the brain during certain impacts.
