The Rossignol Super Blackops 98 is a freeride lightweight ski designed for exploring untracked terrain without weighing you down on the approach. With a 98 mm waist and a construction that keeps each ski at around 1 kg (182 cm), it falls into the very light category for freeride skis, making it well suited to long tours where uphill efficiency matters as much as the descent.
Its 131/98/121 mm sidecut profile strikes a balance between powder flotation and responsive edge-to-edge maneuvering, so you can glide through soft snow and stay precise on firmer patches. The flat mounting interface lets you choose bindings that suit your style and preserves the ski’s natural flex, while the lightweight build reduces fatigue during extended skinning and climbing.
The 19 m radius defines how the ski turns: a longer radius offers stability on open slopes and smooth, arcing turns at speed. The sidecut numbers—tip width, waist width, tail width—show how the ski distributes pressure underfoot: a wider tip and tail help with flotation in deep snow, while the narrower waist aids in carving on packed surfaces. A flat mounting interface means no added plate, so the ski flexes as intended.
