Product Description

The Robens Starlight 2 Exp is a two-person tunnel tent designed for lightweight camping and backpacking trips. Its streamlined shape and midweight construction aim to balance easy carry with reliable shelter, making it a solid choice for those who want a dependable base without carrying unnecessary bulk.

Inside, the tent offers a 230 cm by 175 cm floor area and a peak height of 110 cm, giving two people enough space to sleep comfortably and sit up inside. The HydroTex HD RS recycled outer fabric with ripstop weave enhances tear resistance, while the PU-coated taffeta groundsheet adds extra durability underfoot. Anodized aluminium #7001 poles deliver sturdy support without adding much weight, and the included repair kit, guy-lines and pegs ensure you have what you need to set up and maintain the tent on the trail.

The outer and inner fabrics are described as 70D and 68D polyester 190T, where “70D” and “68D” refer to the thickness of the yarns (denier) used—higher denier generally means stronger, more durable threads. The ripstop pattern weaves in a grid of stronger threads to help prevent small tears from spreading. The groundsheet’s 210T taffeta material has a polyurethane coating (PU coating) applied, which adds extra resistance against moisture and abrasion. Aluminium 7001 is an alloy prized in outdoor gear for its light weight and good strength, keeping the tent frame both robust and packable into its 43 × 16 cm stuff sack.

This award-winning classic tent uses a double wedge design to efficiently shed wind. The Starlight 2 EXP pitches easily and quickly using double clip-on hooks to the main alloy hoop pole that is pre-angled to maximise useable space and comfort. Four attached short corner poles add height at head and feet. Protected vents that can be adjusted from inside and the insect-proof mesh door all enhance ventilation.
