The Oakley MOD5 is a men’s ski helmet built to offer solid head protection on the mountain. It’s designed without a built-in visor, keeping the profile clean and letting you choose your own goggles. Whether you’re carving groomers or exploring steeps, this helmet covers the basics you need for a day on snow.

Inside its hybrid shell construction, the MOD5 combines a tough outer layer with a lightweight inner mold—giving you a durable shell that doesn’t weigh you down. Integrated ventilation channels help keep air flowing so you don’t overheat when the pace picks up. And with Oakley’s MIPS system, there’s an added low-friction layer designed to reduce rotational forces if you take an angled hit.

MIPS, or Multi-directional Impact Protection System, works by allowing the helmet’s inner lining to move slightly relative to the outer shell during certain impacts, which can lessen the torque transferred to your brain. The hybrid shell itself marries a hard exterior for impact resistance with a softer, energy-absorbing interior, striking a balance between robust protection and comfortable wear.
