The Crater IV Hardshell Hooded Jacket from Mammut is a lightweight, three-layer shell designed to keep you dry and comfortable during outdoor adventures. It’s aimed at anyone who needs a reliable barrier against wind and rain without excess bulk, making it a solid choice for hiking, climbing or any activity where unpredictable weather can’t be ruled out.

Constructed from 100% polyester with GORE-TEX® and an ePE membrane, this jacket balances waterproof protection and breathability. The regular fit allows enough room for layering without feeling swamped, and Mammut’s High Reach Technology™ supports freedom of movement across the shoulders and arms. At just 482 grams, it won’t weigh you down on long treks, and the PFC-free durable water repellent (DWR) finish ensures rain beads off the surface while being kinder to the environment. Bluesign® certification and Fair Wear accreditation underline its responsible manufacturing credentials.

The three-layer GORE-TEX® with ePE membrane means the waterproof membrane is bonded between outer fabric and lining, so there’s no loose inner layer to soak up water. This construction keeps the jacket durable and packable while allowing moisture vapour from sweat to escape. The PFC-free DWR treatment helps maintain surface water repellency without using harmful fluorocarbons.
