The Niak Demo by Hilleberg is a 2-person ultralight dome tent, offered here as a showroom model in nearly new condition. It’s built for backpackers who value low weight and straightforward pitching, whether you’re heading into the backcountry or tackling a weekend trek.
This tent’s rainfly is made from Kerlon 1000, a 20-denier high-tenacity ripstop nylon treated with triple-layer silicone for enhanced tear resistance and water shedding. The floor uses a tougher 50-denier nylon with a polyurethane coating to keep ground moisture out. At just 1.7 kg (1.5 kg trail weight) and with DAC Featherlite NSL 9 mm poles, it strikes a balance between weight and stability. Stakes, guy lines and a carry bag are included, so you have everything you need in one pack.
Denier is a measure of the fiber’s thickness: a lower number like 20D means the fabric stays light yet remains strong. Ripstop nylon has a woven grid pattern that stops small tears from spreading, and silicone coatings bond into the fabric to boost both strength and water resistance. Polyurethane coatings add another layer of protection on the floor, preventing moisture from seeping in while still keeping weight down.
