The SIM Comfort Duo 5 from Exped is a two-person sleeping mat crafted for shared evenings under the stars. It’s designed to offer comfortable rest in colder conditions, supporting temperatures down to -15°C so you and a partner can stay warm on chilly nights.
With a 5 cm thickness, this pad balances cushioning and insulation, thanks to a blend of 16 kg/m³ open-cell PU foam and a TPU mesh film laminate. The recycled 50 D stretch tricot polyester top adds a gentle give under your shoulders and hips, while its DWR-free finish maintains breathability without harmful coatings. Stretching 197 cm long and 125 cm wide, it provides roomy comfort for two, and when packed down to 63 × 20 cm it fits neatly into most backpacks.
Its R-value of 5.9 denotes strong thermal resistance, meaning it traps body heat effectively and keeps ground chill at bay. An R-value measures how well a pad insulates—with higher numbers offering more warmth—making this mat well suited for use in temperatures around -15 °C.
