Product Description

The Thorium AR Hoody Men’s from Arc’teryx is a lightweight, insulated jacket designed to keep you warm on cool days in the backcountry or around town. Built as a versatile mid-layer or standalone piece, it’s intended for outdoor enthusiasts who need reliable warmth without bulk.

Its outer shell is woven from Arato™ 30 nylon, a tough 100% nylon fabric that stands up to abrasion and sheds light moisture, while remaining breathable enough for active use. The body is filled with 750-fill goose down for high loft and warmth, and strategically placed Coreloft™ synthetic panels bolster insulation in areas prone to moisture or wear. This blend of down and synthetic insulation means you get cozy warmth where it matters most, plus reliable performance in damp conditions.

Fill power, here rated at 750, measures the loft and insulating efficiency of down: higher numbers indicate more warmth for less weight. Coreloft™ is a fine-denier synthetic insulation that traps heat even when wet, so the jacket retains warmth on damp days or during high-output activities where moisture can build up.

Arc’teryx designs for use in true alpine conditions. Exceptionally versatile, hardwearing and warm, the Thorium AR Hoody performs as a cold weather midlayer and as a standalone. The Thorium’s regular fit is streamlined and layers easily under a hardshell in cold conditions. Lofty 750 fill European grey goose down give incredible warmth for little weight, is durably resilient, and packs easily. The outer is updated with durable and subtly textured Arato™ 30 nylon. This lightweight material withstands abrasion, packs compactly and has a DWR finish to repel moisture. Arc’teryx Down Composite Mapping technology combines the goose down insulation with panels of Coreloft™ synthetic insulation in the hood, cuffs and under the arms, areas prone to moisture. Down is used in the sleeves and around the body’s core. The Thorium is equipped with a synthetically insulated Stormhood™, two zippered pockets secure small essentials and updated to include an internal zipper pocket with a stuff sack.
