The Arcteryx Atom Heavyweight Hoody for men is a synthetic insulated jacket designed to keep you warm during cool-weather outings. Built as part of Arcteryx’s outdoor clothing line, this hoody balances warmth and mobility for hiking, camping or everyday wear when temperatures dip.
Inside, the hoody uses three weights of Coreloft™ insulation—60 g/m², 80 g/m² and 120 g/m²—to tailor warmth where you need it most without adding unnecessary bulk. The Tyono™ 30 denier polyester shell comes treated with a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish to shed light rain and snow. With a regular fit, there’s room to layer underneath, and the fully synthetic construction holds insulation performance even if it gets damp.
The g/m² figures (grams per square meter) refer to the weight of insulation in each area: higher numbers deliver more warmth. “Denier” describes the thickness of shell yarns—the 30 denier shell strikes a balance between durability and low weight. The DWR treatment adds water resistance by causing moisture to bead up and roll off the fabric. Finally, Bluesign® certification and Dope dyed Permeair™ 20 indicate that the jacket’s dyes and finishes meet strict environmental standards and use less water during production.
